A native of Scottsbluff and a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, Raymond Knaub reflects his German/Russian heritage and growing up next to the North Platte River and the Oregon Trail in western Nebraska. Exhibiting widely for the past 25 years, he has built a reputation as one of the foremost Neo-Regionalists through extensive one man and invitational exhibits. Statement
The harmony of light and space combined with a reverence for the land-these are the elements which describe my paintings. Based on actual places, they are not exact renderings of place and time, but instead reflect a deeper interpretation, and a personal, emotional experience of the moment.
