I am intrigued by the architecture of old houses and the abstract design of their surfaces, particularly when enhanced by light and shadow and the resulting shapes of color. And while color is of primary importance to me, I try to maintain a good balance between color and composition.
I am, at heart, a hard-edged painter and so I prefer my paintings sharply defined. Even though my images are realistic, I feel that I am reflecting my own fantasy world. I always paint summer – my days are always warm and sunny and bright.
