With academic degrees in journalism and social sciences, Lori spent nearly 15 years as a professional journalist and in higher education public relations before she began painting seriously. She has shown artwork in local cooperative and commercial galleries and has had work accepted into regional and national juried shows. Her work is in private collections across the United States and in several countries. In addition to serving as a teaching artist with Midwest Artist Studios, a program that links artists with high school classrooms in an 11-state region, Lori teaches workshops in her studio. Her collaborative artworks exploring ideas of place were displayed in the exhibit “Rivers” at the Omaha Public Library and will show at the Norfolk Arts Center in 2019/2020. She was one of about 50 artists included in the 2017 Nebraska Artist Biennial and recently completed the Plank Road Artist Residency in Frederick, Illinois.
